Well, what can I say! It’s been a very busy start to the wedding season so I finished blogging Emma & Alex’s wedding that I photographed in Lancaster. Emma & Alex were married at Ashton Memorial in Lancaster which is a superb place to be married – it’s so picturesque. In fact, Emma & Alex’s wedding was spectacular. I felt so lucky to be a wedding photographer.
I joined Emma during her preparation at Conder Mill which is a canal-side hotel situated in the beautiful Lancashire countryside. The atmosphere was relaxed yet up-beat. Time seemed to fly past and I was soon at Ashton Memorial photographing Alex, his groomsmen and the guests arriving. I managed to catch up with Erica & Simon, a lovely couple whose wedding I photographed some three years ago. All in all, the wedding was jam packed with lovely people. Emma was dressed in a knee length A-line wedding dress and Alex wore a Tux – 1950′s Rock’n'Roll/Hollywood inspired. After a beautiful ceremony, Emma & Alex danced their way down the aisle into the arms of their families and friends.
Emma & Alex had their reception at Lancaster Golf Club. Lancaster Golf Club is not your average golf club. It’s kind of more like a castle or mansion with a golf course attached to it. The place was awesome. With the wedding breakfast over, I said goodbye to the happy couple (I always do this before the first dance so as not to disturb them once I leave). Knowing that Emma is a dancer, I asked if they had anything planned for their first dance. Emma replied ‘No, Alex doesn’t do choreographed dancing’, so I didn’t expect much – however, in true style, Emma & Alex took to the floor like a pair of pro-dancers, with them both making it up as they went along. This was followed by a burlesque inspired performance by Emma & her friends. What a beautiful wedding – what beautiful people.

For prospective brides and grooms: As my followers know, I don’t as much as I should do. Sometimes I will blog highlights, sometimes nothing at all, and every now and again, I blog a full wedding. After being contacted by quite a few of my followers, as well as prospective brides and grooms, asking if they could see more pictures, and the type of coverage I provide at weddings, I decided to show off a little more of Emma & Alex’s wedding. With all things considered, this is the type of coverage you should expect. I tend to see weddings as a thing that happens for the whole day and not just a part of it. This is why it is worthwhile setting aside the time I ask for. This is the reason why I tend not to photograph part days.
